Below are some suggestions from our staff for your VIP vacation in St. Augustine.
Wednesday
Curator’s Tour of the Lightner Museum – If you visit on the first Wednesday of the month, we’d be happy to arrange a special curator’s tour of the Lightner Museum. Located in the town center, an easy five block walk from the Bayfront Marin House, the Lightner Museum offers three stories of exquisite collections, from Tiffany stained glass to rare Victorian furniture to fascinating music boxes and VIctrolas. Collections are stored in the old Alcazar Hotel, built in 1888 by Henry Flagler for his wealthy East Coast guests. Please note: in lieu of the Curator’s Tour in June, July, and August, an Educator’s Tour will be offered. Curator’s tours resume in September. 25 Granada Street.
Lunch at Café Alcazar – As you’re touring the museum, save time to enjoy lunch in the hotel’s original indoor swimming pool—the largest indoor pool in the country at the time it was completed. Today, the pool is empty of water, but full of the beautiful sounds of a piano (or guitar) and bustling lunch spot. Enjoy their curried chicken salad, individual pizzas, or mouth-watering specials while listening to the spot’s amazing acoustics. 25 Granada Street.
Bike Tour Around Town – Borrow two of our complimentary bikes and enjoy the town. Explore on your own, or ask us for our favorite paths through the city. Bike usage is subject to availability.
Dinner at Raintree Restaurant – Enjoy dinner in this old Victorian home, the perfect ending to your Victorian Wednesday. Ask us to arrange shuttle service for you to and from the restaurant—no worries about parking or walking! The beef Wellington is a favorite among locals. 102 San Marco.
Thursday
Restorative Massage in your Room – When you reserve your room, ask us to schedule an in-room massage for you and your special someone. Enjoy a couple’s massage, with two masseuses, or schedule back-to-back relaxation. For a truly indulgent treat, ask us about a bath package to enjoy in the jetted tub, or champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries to feed each other.
Chef’s Dinner at Michael’s Tasting Room – A private dinner created exclusively for you by award-winning Chef Michael Lugo. Enjoy five courses of delectable dishes, paired with wine or without, personally served and presented by Chef Lugo. Reservations and 48 hour notice required. 25 Cuna Street.
Friday
Private Sail on the Matanzas Bay – It’s just you, your special someone, the captain, and a first mate, as you sail smoothly across the water of the Matanzas. Enjoy views of the inn, the fort, and the lighthouse—all from your private boat. Pack a picnic lunch if you like, and enjoy food and drink on your two hour tour. Must reserve in advance; subject to availability.
Dinner at Collage – Collage Restaurant on Hypolita Street is recognized internationally as some of the best dining in St. Augustine. Enjoy five star service in this cozy old home located in the heart of downtown. Reservations required. 60 Hypolita Street.
Artwalk First Fridays – As you stroll leisurely back to the Bayfront Marin House, enjoy St. Augustine’s monthly Artwalk (if you planned your trip to take advantage of the first Wednesday Curator’s Tour, you likely are already here!) Our town’s 30 outstanding art galleries open their doors to highlight new artists, local artists, and well-known artists. Many galleries offer live music and refreshments for a whole-town celebration on the first Friday of each month. Throughout the city—ask us for a map.
Saturday

Housed in a beautifully restored old Victorian, you’ll be the envy of all of your friends when you tell them about your roasted oysters, fresh grouper, and bread pudding. Reservations required. 102 Bridge Street.
