When we first saw our St. Augustine bed and breakfast, it was painted grey.
Between then and the time that we purchased it in 2010, the original owners had painted the inn a soft buttery yellow. But there were still lots of grey accents–like the floors, and stairs, and some of the spindles.
That’s why the grey and silver wedding we hosted last weekend looked so amazing. The bride used silver chargers, pewter colored linens, and lots of sparkly candleholders. As an accent, lime green, yellow and deep purple flowers popped against the neutrals. Additional sparkle was added with classic silver filigree frames, and jeweled menu cards.
If you want to use a similar color palette, keep it light with glass and crystal accents, and choose various shades of grey, pewter, and silver. The contrast between a rich pewter and a bright silver were make the look luxe.
