Manic Music Monday!

I got an email this morning from a publicity website that says the Beatles made their first US appearance on this date in 1964. Happy American Anniversary, Ringo and Paul!

I don’t remember that performance–I’m not sure that my parents even knew each other in 1964. But I did see Ringo at the Amphitheatre last year (still no word from Paul).

But speaking of the Fab Four, another Fab Four have been all the rage and topic of discussion this past week here in St. Augustine. I’m talking of course about Mumford & Sons, the English folk rock band that announced earlier this week that they’re coming to our little city September 13 and 14. (Cue the screaming of ecstatic young girls, as well as that of thrilled middle-aged small business owners!!)

Last night at the Grammys, between all the sexy dresses and messy hairdos, Mumford & Sons picked up the Album of the Year award for Babel. (We’ve been listening to that album all week!) Another band–fun.–was named Best Newcomer. They’ll also be part of the lineup in September, as part of the stopover tour (I haven’t seen a schedule to know what time they’re playing, but we’ll definitely share that information as soon as we get it).

Seems like the hub and I are not the only ones excited about their upcoming visit. As of 6:00 on Friday night (the day that their tickets went on sale), the Inn was completely full. And by the end of the weekend, all of the tickets had been sold as well. It’s going to be an awesome time in September!!

If you didn’t get your tickets, stay tuned to this blog. We may have gotten some extras for a super cool promotion, to be announced later this year. We can’t say any more right now…but it’s going to be big news!!

We’ll be sharing more info as we get it. In the meantime, you can keep up to date on all things Mumford & Sons at www.mumfordandsons.com.

Have a happy music Monday!!
