How did you choose Bayfront Marin?
We have always loved St. Augustine, and when it came time to choose a wedding location, we knew we wanted something picturesque near the water. We were also looking for a venue that felt intimate rather than like a large resort. Bayfront Marin checked all the boxes. It felt classic, timeless, and perfectly suited for the kind of ceremony we had always envisioned.
What was your favorite part of the day?
Without a doubt, my favorite moment was coming down the stairs. It truly felt like something out of a fairytale. Seeing my husband waiting for me, my family gathered, the gorgeous decor, and the water glistening in the background was absolutely perfect.
What advice would you give someone who wants to get married in St. Augustine?
Plan ahead, but also let yourself enjoy the charm of St. Augustine. The historic streets, waterfront views, and intimate venues here make such a beautiful backdrop. Build a little time into your schedule to wander together and really soak it all in with your guests.

We asked Susie Hammontree, wedding coordinator at Bayfront Marin House, for her best tips on hosting a beautiful August wedding. She shared, “When many couples think of August in Florida, they imagine overwhelming heat. Here on the waterfront in northern Florida, we are lucky to enjoy beautiful breezes off the water.
I often suggest a morning ceremony or a later afternoon celebration to help everyone stay comfortable. Alexis chose an off the shoulder gown with a high slit, which was both cool and elegant for a summer wedding.”
