The Lightner Museum (shown here during the holidays) is one of the museums participating in World Museum Day on September 26.
For a tiny town, St. Augustine has a plethora of museums. (That’s the kind of vocabulary you use when you live in a town with a lot of museums).
And on Saturday, September 26, you can visit one of our town’s museums for FREE!
It’s part of the Smithsonian’s annual free museum day–a day where museums around the country make like a Smithsonian and offer free admission. The catch? You need a ticket to do it.
Just go to www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday, and register and print out your free ticket. Then enjoy one of the following participating St. Augustine museums:
The St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum
81 Lighthouse Avenue

The Pena Peck House
143 St. George Street
The Ximenex-Fatio House Museum
20 Aviles Street
The Lightner Museum
75 King Street
If you’re staying with us, just ask and we’ll be happy to print out tickets for you–we’ll just need your name and email address to register you for the event. PLUS, with the exception of the lighthouse, all of the museums listed are easy walking distances from the inn. (And you can borrow one of our bikes to go to the lighthouse if you don’t want to take your car).
Hope to see you on the 26th!
